School Closing Policy

1. Policy for closing/delayed openings during the winter season:

• We follow the decisions of the Bensalem School District. If they close, so do we! If they are delayed, so are we!
• KYW 1060 radio and Channel 3 are the main information sources for you.
  •  Bensalem’s school closing number is #758.
  •  Saint Ephrem’s school closing number is #741.
•  You can also turn on Channels 6 and 10 to look for either Bensalem School District or Saint Ephrem School information.

2. Delayed Openings:

• If there is a ONE HOUR DELAY, then students may start arriving at 8:30 am.
• TWO HOUR delay, students start arriving at 9:30 am.
• CARES POLICY:
  • No early morning on late arrival days
  • Early Dismissal Days: there is afternoon service

3. For those bus riders from Bristol and Neshaminy School Districts, you need to pay attention to your particular school district’s information; they do not always coincide with Bensalem’s decision. Just remember, we abide by the decision of Bensalem SD except in emergencies…so school will be open unless Bensalem Schools are closed!

4. Please have and review an established contingency plan with and for your children if the school should be closed early and buses will transport students home. Do they have key entry? Is someone always at home?
