The PreK Program at SES is an exceptional, well-rounded, specialized program for children ages 3 and 4 years old. The PreK Program is five, full days of live in-person instruction, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 2:10 pm. Our before and after CARES program is available for families that may need additional care to accommodate work schedules.
PreK students wear the SES gym uniform, and bring a snack and packed lunch each day to school with them.
The PreK program focuses on academic skills such as letter recognition, letter sounds, number awareness, fine and gross motor skills, and early literacy strategies. In addition to academics, PreK students are taught essential life skills for classroom success including, listening, following directions, time management, staying on task/completing tasks, coping, cooperation, and socialization.
Our PreK Program has a distinguished faculty, with a full-time teacher and full-time aide in each classroom during the entire school day. Additionally, PreK students attend weekly special classes such as music, library, gym, and STEM. Classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards, and technology is integrated into the daily curriculum. Students engage in art projects, special celebrations throughout the school year, and enjoy play time in the SES gymnasium and school yard.
