Thank you for offering to volunteer at St. Ephrem School! Archdiocesan policy requires that volunteers submit the following clearances and complete the following trainings. If you have any questions, please contact the Main Office at 215-639-9488.
Thank you for your service to our school!
Go to the website www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov. On the right hand side of the screen, click “Clearance”.
If you have lived in PA continuously for the past 10+ years, you will need to apply for two clearances:
When registering for your clearances, indicate that you are a volunteer; there is no charge for volunteers.
Please note, for the PA Child Abuse Clearance, you will be required to create a Keystone ID. You will need this information for future reference, be sure to save and/or print this information for your records.
Results - The results for the PA Child Abuse Clearance will be directly emailed to you within 14 days. Once received, please print the certificate and send to the Main Office. The results for the PA Criminal Check are available immediately. Click “Certification Form” and view your certificate. Please print and send to the Main Office.
* If you have lived in PA less than 10 years, you are required to have fingerprints on file at the school. After having your fingerprints taken at an official Identogo location, you will be provided with an UEID number. Please provide that number to the Main Office so that we can access your fingerprints.
If you have lived in PA continuously for the past 10+ years, you are not required to provide fingerprints as a school volunteer. Instead, you will need to sign the Disclosure Statement for Volunteers. This form is available in the Main Office and/or by clicking here.
Please read, sign, and return disclosure statement to the Main Office.
PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal Check, Fingerprints (if needed), and the Disclosure Statement for Volunteers are only valid for 5 years. After 5 years, volunteers must update their clearances on file.
Part 1 – Safe Environment Training
The Protecting God’s Children program is required for all volunteers. Visit the website www.virtus.org to register for a training session. When registering, select Philadelphia, PA (Archdiocese). You will need to create a username and password to register (be sure to keep a copy of this information for your records). This website lists the dates and locations where the trainings will be held.
After completing the training session, you will receive 2 documents (a signed half sheet of paper and a certificate). Both papers need to be handed into the Main Office.
Part 2 – Mandated Reporter Training
This training must be taken online at www.childyouthprotection.org. In the green tool bar, click Training Institute. You will need to set up an account to complete the course. Once completed, download and print out the certificate, and send to the Main Office.
In addition to the two trainings, you will be required to sign a Mandated Reporter Acknowledgment Form. Click here for form, sign, and return to Main Office.
Protecting God’s Children (Part 1), Mandated Reporter Training (Part 2), and the Mandated Reporter Acknowledgement Form only need to be completed once; these trainings do not expire.
Final Note…
All of your clearances and training certificates will be on file in the rectory. For your convenience, please keep a copy of your documents. You may need them for future reference.
Thank you for supporting St. Ephrem School!
